Glutathione dosage by administration route

Glutathione intranasal dosage

Documented intranasal amounts are 100 or 200 mg per administration, three times daily for 3 months, totaling 300 or 600 mg per day. This is an investigational nasal regimen, separate from oral and injectable products.[1]

Nasal glutathione has its own concentration and delivery volume. Local tolerance and systemic absorption require formulation-specific information.[1][2][3][4]

Glutathione oral dosage

Reported oral protocols use 250 mg per administration, daily. The listed course is ongoing.[5][6][2][7][8][9][10][1][17]

Glutathione participates in cellular antioxidant and redox reactions. Specific oral supplementation regimens may support glutathione status; systemic and local products have separate exposure and safety requirements.[2][3][4]

Glutathione injectable dosage

Reported injectable protocols use 600 mg per administration, daily. Reported subcutaneous amounts are 200–400 mg daily. IV or IM schedules use 600–1,200 mg two or three times weekly. A fixed course length is not specified. These reported patterns do not replace preparation-specific product instructions or establish equivalence between routes.[5][6][2][7][8][9][10][1][18]

Injectable glutathione requires a sterile formulation and a specified administration route. Contamination, hypersensitivity and the quality of the compounded product are relevant exposure risks.[2][3][4]

Glutathione topical dosage

A topical oxidized-glutathione (GSSG) formulation uses a 2% lotion, with approximately 0.5 g applied to the treated half of the face twice daily for 10 weeks. This quantity describes that specific lotion and treatment area, rather than a universal amount for every glutathione cream.[10]

Topical glutathione preparations target local skin pigmentation. Vehicle, concentration and the amount applied determine local exposure.[2][3][4]

Glutathione inhaled dosage

A documented investigational nebulized regimen uses 646 mg in 4 mL every 12 hours for 6 months with an eFlow nebulizer in cystic fibrosis care. It did not produce clinically relevant improvements in lung function or exacerbations and is not a general respiratory treatment.[11]

The nebulized preparation delivers glutathione through a specific airway device. Its solution volume and delivery system are distinct from swallowed supplements and injection products.[11][2][3][4]

Glutathione sublingual dosage

A documented adjunctive sublingual amount is 300 mg twice daily for 2 months alongside conventional COPD treatment. This provides 600 mg per day; the inflammatory-marker differences versus conventional treatment alone were not significant.[12]

Sublingual glutathione has its own formulation and absorption characteristics. A transferable per-administration amount is not established by an oral supplement strength.[12][2][3][4]

Glutathione transdermal — iontophoresis dosage

An iontophoresis protocol loads 1 mL of 200 mg/mL glutathione solution into a powered patch, worn on the upper arm for at least 4 hours daily for 6 consecutive days. The 200 mg is the amount loaded, not a measured absorbed dose; it does not describe a passive adhesive patch.[19]

The powered iontophoresis patch delivers glutathione through the skin. The amount loaded into the device is separate from the amount absorbed.[13][2][3][4]

Frequency and timing

Use oral and injectable products at a consistent time. Intranasal doses are spread across the day; topical products are applied morning and afternoon.[5][6][2][7][8][9][10][1]

Cycle length and breaks

Intranasal: 3 months. Oral: Ongoing. Topical: 10 weeks. Inhaled: 6 months. Sublingual: 2 months. Transdermal — iontophoresis: 6 days. Ongoing treatment does not follow a routine on/off cycle.[1][5][6][2][7][8][9][10][17][11][12][19]

Glutathione safety and side effects

Approval and product quality

Glutathione is not an FDA-approved drug.[6][14][15][16]

Side effects and long-term safety

Non-injectable tolerability is usually tracked through gastrointestinal, headache, or local skin symptoms. Long-term high-dose skin-lightening use, injectable product quality, and route-specific benefit-risk remain uncertain. Glutathione safety is route-specific: oral and topical products differ from injectable sterile-compounding concerns highlighted by FDA.[5][2][3][4]

Route-specific dosing limits

Injectable sterile-compounding risk, respiratory sensitivity, and skin-lightening expectations are the main cautions. Additional schedules attributed to Everything Peptide are reported patterns; citing research does not make these schedules clinically established or approved product instructions.[5][2][3][4][18]

Common Glutathione dosage questions

Can Glutathione doses be transferred between routes?

No. Each route and formulation has its own exposure and administration requirements. Use the dose information for the exact presentation rather than copying a tablet, injection or local-product amount to another route.[1][5][6][2][11][12][13]

What dosage is listed for Glutathione?

Documented intranasal amounts are 100 or 200 mg per administration, three times daily for 3 months, totaling 300 or 600 mg per day.[1]

Does Glutathione have a standard cycle or break interval?

Intranasal: 3 months. Oral: Ongoing. Topical: 10 weeks. Inhaled: 6 months. Sublingual: 2 months. Transdermal — iontophoresis: 6 days. Ongoing treatment does not follow a routine on/off cycle.[1][5][6][2][7][8][9][10][17][11][12][19]
