Follistatin dosage chart
This summary table compares available dose amounts and schedules by administration route.
| Route | Dose | Frequency & duration |
|---|---|---|
| Intramuscular | 3 × 10¹¹ or 6 × 10¹¹ vector genomes/kg per leg (AAV1-FS344 gene transfer) | Single procedure · One administration to both quadriceps |
| Intravenous | 90 or 180 mcg/kg (nonhuman-primate exposure) | Single administration · Single challenge experiment |
Follistatin dosage by administration route
Follistatin dosage guidance
AAV1.CMV.FS344 gene transfer uses 3 × 10¹¹ or 6 × 10¹¹ vector genomes/kg per leg, delivered once by intramuscular injections into both quadriceps. These are viral-vector amounts for a gene therapy, not microgram doses of follistatin protein; a standalone protein-vial dose remains unestablished.[1]
Follistatin binds activins and myostatin. Gene-transfer products, full-length proteins and products labeled follistatin-344 differ in exposure and cannot share one dosing regimen.[2][3][4][5]
Follistatin intravenous — nonhuman-primate protein experiment dosage
The published nonhuman-primate IV exposure uses recombinant follistatin at 90 or 180 mcg/kg in a single administration with an activin or GnRH challenge. No corresponding human IV protein amount or repeat-treatment course is established.[7]
Follistatin binds activins and myostatin. Gene-transfer products, full-length proteins and products labeled follistatin-344 differ in exposure and cannot share one dosing regimen.[7][4][5]
